「NPO法人あらかわ学会」副理事長兼事務局長として、1996年の設立当初から会務の運営・実施に携わる。あらかわ学会は、東京の大河川「荒川放水路」において、より良い荒川づくりを目指す中間支援組織である。
2016年日本水大賞・国土交通大臣賞「多様な価値観を持った大都市河川・荒川における合意形成手法」を受賞。日米桜交流事業を通してアメリカのポトマック川流域州際委員会と姉妹河川提携を結び交流している。
NPO法人エコロジー夢企画理事長として2003年から綾瀬川・花畑川の浄化提案やまちづくり提案、親子参加の生き物観察会などを実施。太陽熱エネルギーの普及啓発活動において「平成25年度地球温暖化防止活動環境大臣賞」を受賞。

As vice president and secretary general of the NPO Arakawa Gakkai, he has been involved in the management and implementation of the association's affairs since its establishment in 1996. The Arakawa Society is an intermediary support organization that aims to create a better Arakawa River in Tokyo's major river, the Arakawa Discharge Channel.
Received the 2016 Japan Water Award and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award for ``Consensus building methods in the Arakawa River, a large city river with diverse values.'' Through the Japan-U.S. Cherry Blossom Exchange Project, we have established a sister river partnership with the Potomac River Basin Interstate Commission in the United States.
Since 2003, as the chairman of the NPO Ecology Dream Planning, he has proposed purification of the Ayase River and Hanabatake River, urban development proposals, and held creature observation sessions for parents and children. Received the ``2013 Minister of the Environment Award for Global Warming Prevention Activities'' for our solar thermal energy popularization and awareness activities.
