Mr. Tanizaki joined the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in 1991. He has served as Director of Planning, Urban Development Projects Division, Bureau of Urban Development; Director of Transportation Planning, Urban Infrastructure Division, Bureau of Urban Development; Executive Director in charge of the Assistant to the Governor, Office of the Governor for Policy Planning; Executive Director in charge of Planning, Urban Development Projects Division (concurrently served as Executive Director in charge of Olympic and Paralympic Coordination), and Executive Director, Urban Infrastructure Division. He has been in his current position since April 2023.
